I think there is the promise of a good site . the problem that I see is the anonymous spam or call it what you will postings, I have several gone and deleted the stupid posts . But I come back and there they are again .
How about requiring registration to post .

You're right that these types of sites attract spam. Within 3 hours of going live we had been hit. The spam is deleted daily.
However, the site is built on a platform designed for communities and has a strong anti-spam protection. I had some problems when it was installed that will be worked out.
Despite the drawbacks, I would like to keep it as open as possible, especially in the beginning. I personally register on very few sites, and suspect that many others are the same. Keeping it open allows someone with something to contribute to do so as painlessly as possible.
Hey, I've visited this site a few times and each time I just ended up deleting spam. There is no upside to having anonymous posting. Registration, when done correctly, can drastically reduce spam. It also helps build a sense of community - currently most postings and comments are from 'anonymous'. Registration also creates a minimum barrier to entry - you'll get higer quality posts when people have to go through registration to post their opionions.

I commend your dedication to your website and publishing philosophy. I'm sure that dedication carries over to the rest of the website.
