How to Create Content

At How It Flies you can submit any type of information related to aircraft; including text, data, photos and videos. Anyone is free to contribute or edit information at any time.

If you would like to contribute information for a particular type of aircraft, first perform a search to see if we already have that information in our database. If we do, simply navigate to the page and either make a comment on the existing information or click the "Edit" tab and add to or correct the information as you see fit.

Related Pages
At the top of the main page for each aircraft should be pages for Specs, Performance, Airspeeds, More Info, Photos, and Videos related to that plane. Clicking on the link will bring up the information we have about that aircraft. If no information has been submitted, you will see blanks where you can submit the information that you know. If there is some information missing, click the edit tab and you can add that information.

If the Aircraft Doesn't Exist
If you can't find the model you're looking for, (base model only, variants should be described on attached pages) click on "Add New Aircraft" at the top of the page and you can add information about the plane.

How to Write an Entry
A good article describes anything a pilot would want to know about an aircraft. Likely sections include: general description, design history, primary role, flight characteristics, unusual operating procedures, accommodations, maintenance notes, significant AD's, purchase and operating costs, variants and anything else you would find of interest.

Unlike an aircraft encyclopedia entry, some level of subjectivity is expected, especially as regards handling characteristics. However, if you want to offer something purely opinion or a personal experience, consider adding that to the "Comments" at the bottom of the page. There your additions will belong to you, not subject to other users' editing as is the article.

To form section heads, enclose the section title between tags.
